#1 “La Petite Nouveau”

Inspired by the Jules Lavirotte structure in Paris

Miniature Artist Michael Reynolds is introducing his new Art Nouveau workshop. Inspired by the Jules Lavirotte structure in Paris, this beautiful little miniature structure was a year in the making. The beautiful front door was directly inspired by the original Lavirotte structure in Paris and the technically challenging “corner” window was inspired by Nouveau structures found in Barcelona, Spain. Open the leaded glass front door and step onto an exotic burl wood parquet floor with a wrap around balustrade supported with fanciful bronze finished nouveau filigree and end with a coy fish newel post. After climbing 3 corner stairs your imagined inhabitants step onto a black walnut floor surrounde by walls of elaborate reverse arched wainscoting. An intricare carved frieze is enhanced with a beautiful deep plume handmade linen paper decoratied with a whimsical vine design in gold. Above is a gold patina patterned ceilingfeaturing a beautiful mullioned sky light. The structure opens along the rigt side of the structure allowing easy access for the collector to fill this little gem with miniature curiosities assembled by each student. The completed structure is 22” wide x 14” deep x 16” tall/20” at the highest point of the front facade. The class is 3 days long. As you create your very own copy of this building you will be instructed in the following techniques:
